In Process

Well, today is officially the beginning of Allison potty training. For a long time she just wouldn't do it. If she did she was on the toilet forever. But yesterday she went a couple of times but I still put a diaper on her. Today I just started her off without a diaper. So far she has been doing good. She goes right when I put her on and she doesnt even want a treat. Its so funny, she will say, I dont hear anything but then she goes she'll say I here it. Anyway, I will let you know about her progress.

Yeah Allison! I'm seriously wanting to potty train Eamon (he turned two in October) but he has never actually gone potty on the toilet yet so I'm thinking he's not ready, but I thought right now might be a good time since we are in doors so much! How old is Allison? Good luck, it's definitely a great reward once they can go all by themselves! Blessings!

I am about to start with Johnny too. I actually tried last week and after about the tenth time he peed on my carpet.. couch...chair...John's shoe...I was done! :) I gave up!!!
He will be 3 in Feb!!! Ugh. He just seems to have no clue when he has to go?
Any tips?? :)

Actually, I am not the person to ask for tips on this issue but I will say that I firmly believe that it will happen when they are ready. I have tried with Allison so many times and now is when it is finally working. She all of a sudden would tell me when she was wet or poopy. She doesnt like to sit down when she poops. She used to not care. But I think she just got tired of it. But Allison knows that she can go to school when she isnt in diapers any more.

Jess, I agree with Amelia that you have to wait until the little one is ready. Forcing it is more for the parent, and doesn't produce much good fruit. I think that many children who were forced into potty training early on end up being bed-wetters. Just my opinion!

Eej is 3 and I'm still wondering if he's ever going to get it. Really. He'll stand there doing something with no diaper on (I'm in the background thinking hopeful thoughts), and there he is, coloring away and peeing all over at the same time. CLUELESS. Not looking down. Not looking guilty. Nothin'.

But with all of my weaknesses in life, I know one thing: I have potty trained 5 other children to go, and I WILL train this one eventually, too!

It will happen! Before you know it! (And you've already done one before, Jess!)

Hang in there gals.

Thank you both!! I really appreciate all that! :)
Karen, the funny thing is...this is actually my first time potty training. :) When Josiah was almost 3, John and I went away for 5 days and my Mom potty trained him while we were gone!!!! :)
I think it's time for another trip!! HA! :)

Well, you lucky girl, you! I can see why this might be a bit puzzling then.

Well, hey...I say go on another vacation and leave Johnny with Grandma!
