Here I am

Well I thought would take some time to write. We have been busy. I have been working alot at starbucks. Darren is working at a lumber company. He really likes it. In our spare time we just hang out at home. We went and saw Mr. and Mrs. Smith with Matt and Mel last saturday. It was fun. I have been really trying to keep the house tidy lately. I have been doing ok. We dont have a dish washer so I dont really like to do them. So that has been a struggle for me. But I found a website that tells you to do them everynight and shine your sink before you go to bed so you wake up happy. And Tammie has been an encouragement. So if anyone has any tips let me know. I have to go but I promise I will write again soon.

hey it was good hearing from you. I haven't talked with you all week. I will have to call. I have been busy around the house too! Trying to keep up before baby comes. I love the pictures of Alison. Do you need her to come play with Lexi while you work soon?

I can help you put the links back on. I just need your password and will cut and paste them from my list.

'Melia -

You know us well, and you know how much we put off dishes, too! But we have a system now that works really well, and it works all day long. We call it PEP.

PEP stands for Prepare, Eat, Pick-up...it's what truly constitutes a meal. And you can't eat a meal without preparing it first, and you don't prepare a meal and not eat it. So why do we think we should prepare it, eat it, and then leave it all sitting out forever??

So now we PEP after every meal, and it works so wonderfully. It's just a mind-set, not magic. But it worked for us!

(It also helps to have 4 kids 7 and above who can finish PEP for you! Just you wait...your day will arrive when you can sit down with Darren after dinner and the kids will clean it allllll up!)

Same dilema as you, no dishwasher...I AM the dishwasher. I just wash dishes before bed or first thing in the morning. Frankly, I just don't do much cooking and I LOVE paper plates :) and plastic cups. Works wonders!

I would have to agree with Karen, it is a mindset thing and I am not there yet! We don't have a dishwasher either, so you aren't alone. Although I think I was even more lazy with a dishwasher, they are a waste of money in my estimation! Hey, here's a tip...When you are having company over and you don't have all the dishes done, don't put the dirty dishes in the oven. Even if your husband promises to take them out you might forget about them and turn on your oven and melt some of your dishes-we've done it twice! :) It's kind of funny when you really think about it!

Oh my goodness Jenni, that is hilarious. (unless it happened to me of coarse!)

I'm not sure what Jenni is talking about. Dishwashers are certainly NOT a waist of money! In fact I thank God for my dishwasher on a regular basis. We had to buy appliances when we moved into our house. the dishwasher was one thing that I got the top of the line. I can put a lasangna pan that has been sitting out for a day in my dishwasher with out even soaking it or scrubing it or anything.

Oh sorry I just realized it might sound as if I was rubbing it in. Definatly not intended. I sympithize with you. I hate washing dishes by hand.

I will believe with you. Someday, God will open the door for you to have a dishwasher. Until then, I'm with Sabrina...Paper plates!
